Immediately as Voigtländer announced this lens earlier in 2009, it gained a lot of attention. The main reason has probably been the combination of a wide angle lens, in a compact body, especially appealing to DX/APS-C DSLR body owners craving for prime lenses with an equivalent focal lens wider than 50mm.

Being the proud owner of a Nikon D70, and the gadget freak that I am, I joined the anticipation. In September 2009, i finally ordered and received the lens.
